The feet on bowls, Jessica Lowry

This is a bowl by Shoji Harnada. This bowl has by far the best coloring, the dark brown lines coming out from the middle of the bowl almost look like vines or the dendrites of neurons. The foot on this bowl is much like the one on the bowl by Clary Illian, it is smaller and not very tall. Which for bowls that are more shallow that is god because then they are not top heavy.
This is the Shino bowl by Warren MacKenzie. This bowl is probably my favorite because I enjoy bowls that are deeper but also because of the almost diamond shape of it. The foot on this bowl is taller than that of the bowl by Clary Illian and fits the overall shape really well. I think with bowls that are deeper it is better to have a taller foot that way they sit up higher.
This is a bowl by Clary Illian. This bowl is very different from that of Bernard Leach in that it is more shallow and larger in diameter as well. And most noticeably the foot on this bowl is much smaller and does not elevate the bowl as high.
This is a bowl by Bernard leach. I picked this bowl because I enjoy the design along the outside of the bowl it adds some subtle texture. Also I liked that the base or the foot of the bowl is much smaller because it sets the bowl up higher almost like it is on a pedestal.
