i think this a really awesome and unique handle. i like guns so this really appeals to me, however i dont think i'd be able to make something look that nice, it is really cool though
i love the glaze work they did on these cups and the handle gives it a unique look
i think the handle and whole design of this cup it just really pretty and unique.

this cup is really cool and the antler handle is really awesome, this would be a cup id love to have in my kitchen

I really enjoy this German beer stein. The detailing on it and colors is amazing. The handle itself is interesting to look at. The fact that they can be so detailed with clay and make it appear to be 3D is insane.
The contemporary mugs are so fun and creative. I really enjoy the design on the cups and the handles. The design and painting on them reminds me of trees with splashes of color running down.
Another old German mug with extremely detailed handle, lid, and base. I really like this one because of the royal feel I get from it. I really enjoy the handle and the was it shapes the cup, and well as the detail of it. Although it seems like it might be a little awkward feeling to drink out of it.
These mugs really stand out to me. I love the wide base. The details of the floral are amazing. It was one of the favorite mugs I found.

Get Mugged!

I like these mugs a lot. They give you a feel of Spring time with the flowers blooming and the positive, bright colors. I also admire how the artist decided to give the inside of the mugs a sort of alive feel of nature by putting bee's and butterflies on the interior. That may frighten some to use as a drinking vessel but I like it.

This mug is different from others, that's why I chose it. It has a somewhat abstract feel to it with the lines and circles. I see an American flag when I try to make something of it. The placement of the handle is interesting and different, but I feel like the design of it is not convenient for the user considering it is hanging from the bottom of the mug.

blog

I thought this cup looked interesting, it is very simple in shape yet the design is what gives it life.

I also really liked this drinking vessel, mainly because of it's different shape, you don't see many cups like that nowadays.

These cups really stood out to me, I really love the colors and design that were added on as well as the base shape of the cup.

This cup probably stood out to me the most, the whole set of pictures in fact were my favorites, I love the animal reminiscent designs and the handle-less cup shape.

Assignment 6

I like this "Monkey Cup" (top) from South Netherlandish in around 1425-1450.  I like the shape of the base and the design made in the glaze.
I also like this Skyphod (deep drinking cup) (bottom) it is Greek from around 350-325 BC.  I like the image on the cup and also how there are two handles rather than one and I like how they are placed at the top and parallel to the base.

I like these mugs by Doug Peltzman.  I like the color and the unique shape of the handles.
I also like the coffee set by Nicholas Bivins.  I like the more boxed and modern feel he utilizes in his designs.

I like the placement of the handles on this piece. I dont know how comfortable it would be for the hand but its not boring or traditional so it draws my eyes to it.

These cups I like because they dont have a handle. The grooves made on the edges serve as a replacement for handles because they would allow a good grip on the cup. the glazing on these pieces are pretty interesting as well.

I like this cup because its huge and could serve as a bowl as well. Espically becausae of the double handles on the top.

This cup os so unique because the underlying function is a beer mug but it is handcrafted so beautifully that royalty often collected these pieces. I really like the detail put into this piece.

coffee or tea

I loved this cup very beautiful i absolutely love the colors its so elegant
Skyphos drinking cup made about 350-325 B. C. The paintings are historical.
Nicholas Bivins, his work is very unique and geometric. Very modern and "edgy".

Bobtail Cups by John Oles the handles on this cup are very unique and different looking.  I dont know what i think about it, just very unique.

Assignment 6

This is a cylindrical vessel with a throne scene made in the 8th century Guatemala. Its a
simple vessel, but I'm blown away by the history on this glass.
This is a Skyphos deep drinking cup made about 350-325 B. C. The handles on this
cup stick out and are curved the vessel is curved and the painting on it is historical.
This is a Nicholas Bivins, his work is geometric, I like his thickness in the
handles they look comfortable.
This is done By Doug Peltzman, The lines on the cup are interesting and the
ridges on the side of the cups look good with the vertical lines.

assignment

i like how perfect these look. the handles are nice a big for the pots and cups look like a comfortable size for your hands.

I really just like the color of this box, but i think the design on the lid is really cool looking.
I think this is a really fun idea, maybe for a child to put something in. its a design that i've never seen done before.
this is a really cool idea. to make something out of one craft and have it look like another craft. Its a really cool idea and i think they did a really good job with it.

coffee and tea

The tea set seems to be perfectly formed and very geometric giving off a very modern look which is kind of interesting. The small cup looks really cool, and is my favorite, its general form and exterior texture fit nicely together. The Maya historic cup shows more of a story where as the medieval cup has a more abstract sense, and both pieces are very detailed.

Coffee or Tea

This deep terracotta drinking cup has an interesting form, but seems less ergonomic with the handles. Despite the fact that they are less traditional and therefore hold some unique value, they make the cup look more like a pot if I didn't know the scale of this form.

This drinking cup is extremely exquisite in every way. I have an affinity for medieval works, and this thing screams it. The form alone already gives it a powerful presence, since it almost resembles a pedestal. The shades of gray enamel create a stunning surface that moves and draws the eye. The silver wraps add are small and very particular, adding a nice touch.

These modern "Bobtail Cups" by John Oles are fun and innovative. I haven't seen any handles like the ones he built for these, but I think it is very successful with the rest of the form and textured base.

I absolutely love the sets by Nicholas Bivins. Looking at his works, I can almost get a sense of the effort put into these because they look generated on a computer or machined. There is a very geometric quality to his pieces, and the circuit-looking glaze patterns help reinforce this idea.

I like this cup; it doesn't look like a cup. This cup looks like a cup for a king.

Coffee or Tea?

I like the idea of the two smaller handles on each side. Also, I enjoy the idea of creating a story on my mug.

I love the colors and the texture put onto this. The handle is absolutely beautiful. I especially love the lid.

I like the shapes of these cups and mugs. The square quality of them all is interesting and the glaze works well with the angles of the cups.

I love everything about this mug. The colors and the shapes that were added are great, and it looks like there is a foreground and a background. I like the small oval handle too.

Coffee or Tea

I chose this historic ivory cup from the 1600's. It is German style and i chose it because I like the interesting shape and the texture created on the surface. Its not ceramic but i like the ornate silver gilding and the style of the foot is very attractive.

I chose this piece from the 1400's because I live the detail on the surface. Again it has an interesting shape and I like that the foot is shaped as well. I think the larger foot with the gilded accents help balance the piece and prevent it from being too top-heavy.

I like this piece because it is different and interesting. The cup itself looks like a tulip and I like the style of the glaze. The foot is nicely done as well and I like how it is in rings. I is much bigger than it appears, four inches tall and wide.

The main reason i chose this piece was because the color drew my attention, but the more i look at it the more interesting it is. I like how the pieces have rings around the middle (of the pitcher) that match the foot on the base. Then I like the checkered pattern that is behind the rings. The paint on the checkered patterns has a weird grungy texture, making it look more like tiles.
