Blog #4

This bowl made by Linda Arbuckle in 2005 is a contemporary piece with leaves that hang off of the side giving that extra edge. I really like the idea of having the leaves on the sides of a bowl to give it that little extra eye catching contrast.

These bowls made by Courtney Murphy are my favorite of the bowls we looked at. I love the colors and the simple pattern on it.
This tea bowl from 1575 found in Japan is very simple and hearty looking. Its amazing to think that they had the ability to make a bowl and glaze it hundreds of years ago.
This tea bowl from the Song Dynasty is also one of my favorites because it looks like something we would be able to make. Its not complex and extremely detailed like some of the other more contemporary pieces.
