Journal #3 Bowls: Feet and Lips

Bowls are a crucial and very important part of everyday life, they belong right beside the orange juice, and full of cereal. Also with the occasional bowl of black walnut ice cream.

One artist that really caught my eye would be Warren MacKenzie, his sleek, simple style really compliments his bowls. The lips and feet on his bowls match very nicely, and are great sizes. Another great aspect of his bowls would be the glazes that they use, both matted finishes and metallic as well.

Another artist that I really like would be Shoji Hamada. Not only the size of his bowls that he makes but the classic style and attitude that comes along with his pieces. With his style comes amazing shapes and edges that really catch the eye and give special characteristics.

Up on the list with great artists would be Linda Arbuckle. Her bowl lips are especially appealing because they usually have a great compliment with features on the sides and bottoms of the bowls. Paired along with great glaze, colors, and designs to end up with an all around great looking bowl.

Suze Lindsay is another artist with great technique and skills to match. With her new age style and semi animal print glaze designs, she really has some good taste with the pieces that she makes.
