Curly Bottoms: Week 3.

Linda Arbuckle is very well recognized in the pottery world including Artists' Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and Florida Individual Artists' Fellowship. For the hard work she has accomplished, she attended the famous Rhode Island School of Design and earned her MFA there.

She has shared her talent during many summer sessions throughout many universities and workshop sessions around the U.S. She specializes in “Decorated pottery, particularly lowfire. Specialization in majolica glazing techniques.”

Her decorated pottery couldn’t be any better. Vibrant colors and simple decor is enough to catch anyone’s eye.

Her feet on the base of the bowls are interesting. I usually see the feet inclined inward but with Linda’s work, her feet go outward. What is more interesting, is that if one looks close enough, the actual feet of the are not just outward but she makes this funky curl around the base, making the feet appear as if the base is going up and down. Look at the corners or the bowl to have a better idea.

Here is another picture, not or a bowl but of a vase, but one might be able to see the bottom better.
