I believe that the top five tips are 1) Maintain consistent speed of the wheel (faster for centering and slower for pulling) because i have throne clay before and if you to fast you will tare a hole in the clay.
2) Find and use equal pressure of the top and side hands to center because if the ball is not centered properly your project will be off. 3) use enough water to keep your project from hardening and the clay to be more flexible. Richard Brandt...4) pressure Use very little pressure with inside finger or fingers for narrow bowls. because if you push to hard you can poke a hole in your project last but not least one should always remember to pull from the right side of the wheel. however i think there is some important things to keep in mind, like you need creativity and a good eye. if you don't have an idea of what you want your end product to look like it can turn out looking all wrong. and most of all never let any one tell you that your art is ugly everyone has different opinions on everything if you like it then be proud of it. This blue vessel was created by Roland Summers in 2005. this projects started with the basics with those 5 tips
