Goals: 1. Skill Based: To understand and create a relationship with clay and its different stages, i.e. wet, leather hard, bone dry, bisque, and glazed. And also learn some basic firing techniques 2. Visual: To enhance your awareness of form and surface in utilitarian and sculptural ceramics. 3. Conceptual: To build on your basic knowledge of historical and contemporary ceramics from around the world and begin personal research.

I like this sculpture because it reminds me of gollum from lord of the rings. the expression the artist choose to capture is intriguing because you cant really tell if this is a happy old person or a crazy old person. it looks very realistic, and the artist did the wrinkles are amazing.
this sculpture is interesting to me because i like making people my self, and this is an strange piece. i like how it has a worn out look, and a sad face. its kind of like the paint is crying off the mans face. another interesting part about this piece is the red paint around the mouth, this reminds me of a clown. only clowns are usually happy and this man looks relevantly sad.
